Hannah & Chris: A Colorful Ode to Nostalgia and Retro Film

Hannah & Chris came to us with a vision that sounded like it was specifically made for us - a colorful, funky, retro aesthetic with an ode to their love of movies. We could not be happier with how this day turned out.

Hannah, the bride, is an artist herself. She MADE her centerpieces using Sola Wood florals (yes, wood), along with the chargers at each place setting. Also the not one, but two unbelievable veils? Yeah, she made those as well. Hannah also designed the bride-of-Frankenstein welcome sign and movie-themed seating chart. We truly believe our clients are rockstars.

We helped hone in on the vision by creating a tablescape with Lilac & Lace, Citrine, and Party Rental LTD. We also added rentals form Vision Furniture PHL for some statement pieces like the bar and the shelf that served as their favor display (bud vases with wooden flowers made by the bride).

We also enlisted Salt Florist to create the dreamy, funky-yet-whimsical ceremony backdrop. We stuck with the teal in the color scheme as the main focus for this installation - we wanted it to match the accent wall behind the ceremony. Salt also created the must stunning, colorful bridal bouquet for Hannah.

The Deacon served as the perfect nontraditional, unique wedding venue for Hannah & Chris’ big day. Their VIPs stayed in the guest rooms on-site throughout the weekend and Hannah and her crew did hair and makeup right there in the venue. The stained glass featured throughout the venue space seemed like it was tailor-made to fit the color scheme and served as a stunning backdrop for some photos. Hannah included some fun streamer chandeliers in her decor supply, so we took it upon ourselves to install them on the staircase railings that overlook the main event space.

Chris and Hannah love movies, especially the classics. Each of their tables was named after one of their favorite films (think The Godfather Pt. 2 and Cabaret) and we had old black and white movies projected onto one of the walls throughout the night. We also had Ashtyne Cole capture their day on a vintage Super8 camera, as a nod to their love of vintage film. Majestic Photo Booth was also there to provide a nostalgic guest experience.

The day was captured by Shannon Voss photo, which was extra special because Hannah and Shannon have been friends since childhood.

This day perfectly encapsulated who Hannah & Chris are as a couple, as well as Sunbursts & Stardust’s wedding philosophy and aesthetic. That philosophy being: do what you want and make the day YOU.
