When We’re Together Darling, Every Night Is Halloween: Elena & Tom’s Perfectly Spooky Celebration

Photography by Emma Melin Studios

To us, Halloween isn’t just a day, it’s a way of life. So, when Elena came to us looking for a spooky, gothic, Halloween-weekend wedding, we were over the moon. The exact way Elena described her vibe to us was “Saltburn party.” If you know, you know. And boy, did we know.

We were beyond thrilled to be able to pull together a gothic wedding, and even more thrilled that Elena and Tom were fully game to go all-out. With it being Halloween weekend, we wanted to take a nod from the Saltburn party in question and have the guests wear whimsical, gothic accessories. We had a table of these for guests to choose from, along with signage that had one of the couple’s favorite Addams’ Family Quotes: “When we’re together darling, every night is Halloween.” Guests grabbed accessories like gothic fairy wings, ethereal crowns, and spooky masks from the display.

We took this a step further by incorporating the costume party vibe into the seating chart - each guest got a masquerade mask that told them which table they were assigned to. As you can imagine, many guests immediately put these on, setting the tone impeccably for the night.

For the reception, we had Ol’ Thorn florist provide stunning monochrome red florals, mixed with bountiful, luxurious fruit, along with dramatic candelabras for the centerpieces. We brought in black goblets for each place setting and of course did black-on-black for the linens and napkins. We had the venue turn their lights super low so that the room had a dramatic, candle-lit feel.

Of course, Elena stole the show in her - you guessed it- black wedding gown. She accompanied the lace Maggie Sottero gown with a long black veil, which perfectly matched the gothic aesthetic. We set up a portrait station with a draped black backdrop for the guests to take photos, but of course we ended up having a mini photo shoot of the couple in front of it. These made for some of our favorite shots of the whole day. The ones of Elena covered with her veil? Iconic.

After a breathtaking ceremony in front of the venue’s stained glass windows in their antique cathedral, guests partied big time, thanks to our friends at Posh DJ. Yes, we played Murder on the Dancefloor and yes, it was as epic as it sounds.
